DMCA and Takedown Requests

ZavoGames responds to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and to equivalent requests from rights holders elsewhere. A complete notice is acted on without argument. This page explains what a complete notice contains and where to send it.

Where to send a notice

Replace this with a real, monitored address before the site goes live. A takedown address that nobody reads is worse than none at all - it converts a request that could have been handled in an hour into a complaint to your host.

What a notice must contain

Incomplete notices cannot be acted on, and every item below exists because without it the request cannot be verified or the material cannot be found.

1. The work. What is being infringed, clearly enough to identify it. A title, and a registration number where one exists.
2. Where it is. The full address of every page you are asking about. "Somewhere on your site" is not something anyone can act on.
3. Who you are. A name, a postal address, a telephone number and an email address we can reply to.
4. A statement of good faith that the use complained of is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement of accuracy - that the information is correct and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
6. A signature, physical or electronic.

What happens next

A complete notice is acknowledged and the material is taken down. The page is removed rather than hidden, and the address stops resolving.

The takedown is not conditional on agreeing with the claim. If the claim later turns out to be wrong, restoring a page is easy; leaving material up while a dispute is argued is not something this site does.

Counter-notices

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address containing:

1. What was removed, and the address it was at.
2. Your name, address, telephone number and email address.
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
4. Your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and your agreement to accept service from the person who filed the notice.
5. Your signature.

Material may be restored after a counter-notice unless the original complainant starts legal proceedings.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material are closed.
