Privacy Policy

Short version: this site does not track you. There is no analytics script, no advertising network, no fingerprinting and no profile built from what you look at. What follows is the long version, including the two things that are stored and why.

What is stored in your browser

  • A language cookie. Written when you pick a language from the switcher. It holds a two-letter code and nothing else. If you never pick one, no cookie is written - the site reads the language your browser already asks for and serves that.
  • A theme value in local storage. Dark or light. It never leaves your device and is not sent with any request.

Neither identifies you. Neither is shared. Neither is used to build a profile, because there is nothing here that would read one.

If you create an account

An account is optional and exists for one thing: leaving comments. Creating one stores a display name, an email address and a hashed password. The password is hashed with bcrypt and cannot be read back, by us or by anyone with access to the database.

The email address is used for exactly one purpose: resetting your password. There is no newsletter and no marketing mail, and the address is never sold, shared or handed to anyone. The display name you choose is public, because it appears next to your comments; nothing else about your account is.

What is logged on the server

Like every web server, this one records requests: the address requested, the time, and the IP address that made it. Those logs exist to find faults and to stop abuse - a script hammering the download counter, a bot filling the contact form - and they are rotated and deleted rather than kept indefinitely. They are not read to build a picture of any individual visitor.

Download counts are stored as a number per game per day. They are not tied to any person: the count goes up, and nothing records who caused it.

The contact form

What you type into the contact form is emailed to us and nowhere else. It is not stored in a database, added to a mailing list or passed to a third party. Your address is used to reply to you.

Links to other sites

Download links point at file hosts, and game pages link to store listings. Those are other companies with their own policies, and this policy stops at the edge of this site. Once you follow a link you are subject to whatever that site does, which in most cases includes the tracking this one avoids.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and no account should be created by one. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and it will be removed.

Your data, and getting rid of it

If you have an account you can ask for it and your comments to be deleted, and that will be done. Since nothing else about you is stored, there is nothing else to hand over or erase.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. It is worth checking occasionally rather than assuming it says what it said last year.
